Local Restaurant Reviews
- Restaurant: Bru's Room Sports Bar, Boynton Beach
- Comments: I have to say, for the best chicken wings in town; you need to try Bru's Room sports Bar on Congress, between Gateway and Boynton Beach, in front of the Mall, next to Wachovia Bank. They also have great ribs and specials. Big screen TV's for all the sporting events, and the friendliest bartenders. See Lindsey for lunch. And stop in at night and you might run into the owner, former Miami Dolphin Player Bob Brudzinski!

- Editors note: Bob has 4 locations of this great sports bar - including Boynton Beach and Delray Beach
- Restaurant: Two Georges Waterfront Grille
- Rating: Excellent
- Comments: Well, for lack of our readers coming through with any review
of the new Two Georges, I took it upon myself last evening to do the
deed myself. Everybody there knows how much I love the place, so I vowed,
as I wandered in, after the Chamber Happy Hour, that I would not reveal
that they were under the "test" until I was all done, and give the fairest
review possible.
I was not to be disappointed. First
off, comes the great service. On seeing me,
as I asked to see a menu, the servers gently chided "You know you
are going to have Mary's Conch Fritters." Well, how well they remember!
Yes, I ordered the small portion of conch fritters, and a mahi sandwich,
blackened with fries. The fish was moist and spicy, portion great, (I
ate way too much!) and the service wonderful.
Two Georges, before their
renevations, prided themselves on being a local hangout, and after getting
used to the new layout, and increased patronage from new diners, they
haven't seemed to loose their touch. If you haven't been there since
their reopening, I highly recommend the visit. They stay open late,
and have music there late night, Thurs - Saturday.

- Restaurant: Renzo's
- rating: Very Good
- comments: I especially loved the small town warmth at this local family owned and operated restaurant. They are located in the Gulfstream Mall on Federal Hwy, and also have a location on Jog Road, both in Boynton Beach. I felt like I was back in Little Italy years back, or Gabby's in Queens. The garlic rolls were simply the best, and service and attention great, and the food moderately priced with very good portions. I had the sausage and pepper parmegiana plate, and brought home left overs! (Friends will know this is highly irregular :>) Renzo's came highly recommended and this Italian recommends it too!

- Restaurant: Dean Anothony's
- rating: EXCELLENT
- comments: Very fine salads, especially the gorgonzola salad....great dishes, all of
them...the specialty being the Pasta Sinatra...but the PIZZA, it's the best
pizza this side of New York City.

- Restaurant: The Friendly Greek
- Rating: EXCELLENT
- comments: This restaurant is located on the east side of US1 in Lantana between Hypoluxo Road and Lantana Road. If your looking for a place to meet for breakfast, this is the place. The friendly greeks omelets are out of this world. I have also had his Gyros and Greek Salad with his homemade dressing. Both were the best I've ever had. It's a very friendly place with quick service and prices are unbeleivable. Do your self a favor and stop by. You won't be disappointed. Maybe I'll see you there.

- restaurant: Taisho
- Poll Rating: EXCELLENT
- Comments: Excellent service, great prices, ice cold sushi and wonderful Miso soup. Lunch menu is almost too cheap not to go out for sushi. The atmosphere is simple and elegant. Definately a good date resturant.

Back Alley Bar & Grille (Military and Boynton Beach in the Winn
Dixie plaza)- a restaurant review by Karen Dominick
An excellent place for both nightlife as they have really
great bands on the weekends, and the food and service are wonderful. Phil & I
both love their Pittsburg Salad @ $9.95 (greens with steak, french fries -
yes the french fries are in the salad, cheese etc. ---its huge) and the
Mufletta sandwich. Phil always orders 1/2 of the Muffletta @ $5.95 (which
comes with fries) as it is also a more than generous portion.
... a favorite hang out for us people
that live west of Congress.
Coasters A restaurant review by Jody - Located on Atlantic Avenue in Delray, Jody's pick was the "Man Overboard" burger. At $6.95 this is a great burger.
Skeeters A restuarant review by John - There's a new chef at Skeeters, and the food is great. John had their grouper sandwich, ....and it was THIS thick :>. At $6.95, John was very happy with his lunch.
The Dolphin - A restuarant review by Scotty - One of Boynton's newest restaurants, the menu includes everything from steak to fish. Reasonably priced, Scotty's party of 10 enjoyed the crab augratin, and shrimp scampy esp.
Two Georges Water Front Grille 728 Cas Loma Blvd.; 736-2717; - My personal favorite here is the blackened
dolphin over ceaser salad. It is a healthy portion of salad topped with some of the greatest dolphin.
....and of course reasonably priced for this poor webmasters budget!
Scully's - An ode and a moment of silience for the best burger in town.
What else is there to say about the Boynton-famous "Scully Burger"........It
was the best. 2002 welcomes Joann and Kevin back to Boynton Beach. That
ScullyBurger is as good as I remember it, and there's more! Check out
Scullyburgers on Federal Highway today!
Hurricane Alley 529 E. Ocean Ave.; 364-4008; - Sandwiched....hehehehe....right
between Scully's (Now Kenny's Market) and Two Georges.
Well - my pick this week was the "Surge" sandwich. I asked for a Hot Surge, as I was
quite famished from the long trip down Ocean Ave..... Out comes this great sandwich,
with a CHOICE(!!) of pasta salad or cold slaw. I thought that was really
great - and the sandwich, well it quenched my appetite perfectly. This is my pick, though
I haven't tried everything out yet.
